Everyday Training for Martial Arts (Constant Training)?

I’m going on several back packing trips across Asia to learn about the different martial arts and the small villages and their life there. I have no previous experience in martial arts but I’d like to get my body ready for the tasks. I can’t afford a gym membership, but there are lots of playgrounds, hills, rock climbing areas, etc in my area.

Please give me as much info as you can, as well as links to websites, and maybe some books.

Thanks ^.^

What Are Good Techniques for Training Arm Tendons and Ligaments?

I started rock climbing about a year ago and progressed pretty quickly but the tendons and ligaments in my arms have become a serious problem for me lately. They’re constantly sore and seem to be very injury prone. Are there any good techniques for training them, specifically the ones in the hands, wrists, elbows and shoulders?

I’ve looked around some body building forums but most of that was very technical and over my head. Hope someone can give me some more straight forward information. Thank you!
